Leader's Walk is not about skills, tactics, techniques or strategies. We guide leaders and companies to success by teaching leaders how to develop the unique, deep-rooted strength of character that allows them and their companies to bring something alive in the world that no one else can.
Great leaders inspire others to follow them because of who they are at their core and the clarity of their vision, rather than because of their job title, position, wealth, or ability to invoke fear.
We seek to develop leaders who measure success more by the amount of joy in their lives than the amount of money in their bank accounts…And the two are not mutually exclusive.
Leader’s Walk believes each of us was given a gift that allows us to bring something alive in the world that no one else can. All success comes from uncovering and sharing these gifts.
We also believe that life…and learning…are journey’s, not destinations. The journey to becoming a true leader is an inner game. It comes through character development, not personality development. It’s about becoming a great human being, because if you aren’t, they might call you a manager, but they won’t call you a leader.

Leader’s Walk uses an ancient learning technology that predates writing and may even predate speech. In other words, it’s proven to work.
We focus on primary greatness...right values, right seeing, right choices, and right action. We leave secondary greatness…technical, tactical and strategic competencies…for another time and place.
We use collaborative conversations, built around powerful stories, as the principal drivers of learning and innovation. They carry news, spread intellectual capital, create meaning, foster cooperation, and spark creativity. The stories we use, and the process we have developed, quickly create strong bonds of community, shared understanding, and embed the wisdom of the day’s walking deep into the memory and bones of all who participate in the conversation.
Jim Ericson, Story Master
Jim Ericson is a seeker and discoverer of wisdom. Jim looks to find the nuggets of concentrated intelligence that can provide guidance to a world searching for its footing, a world of massive change and considerable disruption. To accomplish this, he became a Story Master. He is constantly wading through a wide range of thinkers and minds to find some essence, some kernel of value that speaks to us today. The value that Jim brings to us is as a curator of essential knowing: there are some thoughts and ways of seeing the world that are essential to thriving and being balanced.
As a Story Master, Jim understands that we live by our stories…that our personal narratives comprise our way of understanding the world. And so, Jim is a finder and keeper of stories. He digs out essential stories. He brings together fundamental stories that call attention to significant wisdom, stories create bridges of understanding…connections among a myriad of ideas…to help us deal creatively with various pressing issues, human problems, and life opportunities.
As a Story Master, Jim also understands that insights don’t just come from a good story. Rather, it’s the conversations, fresh questions and the listening they evoke that can lead to lights going on and insights being discovered. As a Story Master, Jim serves the story, the telling, and, most importantly, the listening.
Leader's Walk is a unique learning experience for anyone wanting to become a better leader. It is double-goaled. It teaches how to learn, as well as how to lead.
Specifically, they focus on the external, on what can be seen, quantified, standardized and learned by rote — a defined set of behaviors in the form of skills, tactics, techniques, competencies and strategies. And while this “cookie cutter” approach might work for developing supervisors or managers, it is neither sufficient nor of the first order when it comes to developing leaders.
We help people become someone others will follow because of their strength at their core and power of their path, rather than because of their job title, position, or ability to invoke fear.
Every story, every session, is designed to spark a conversation that engages your mind, heart and soul. They will all stand alone, yet still be way points on a continuing arc.
